The first-term Democrat won the open District 15 seat in 2016 with 66 percent of the vote. She is currently the youngest woman serving in the Maine Legislature.
O’Neil, who is currently serving her first term, says she has enjoyed the honor of representing Saco in Augusta.
“Staying in touch with local officials has helped me advocate for Saco at the State House,” said O’Neil. “There are hundreds of competing interests in Augusta, and it is my responsibility to make sure the people of Saco have their voices heard.”
“I truly relish the opportunity to solve problems when I get a call from a resident or local business,” she said. “It is so gratifying to help people navigate our state government and make sure that it works to their benefit.
If re-elected, she will continue to work to connect local businesses with economic development opportunities, O’Neil said. She said she also plans to work closely with Saco officials on relieving commuter and turnpike congestion.
“My door is always open, and I will continue to bring a fresh perspective to Augusta as I advocate for the people of Saco.”
