Police responded to the scene of a head-on crash at the intersection of Route 1 and Log Cabin Road which took place after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Details are sketchy about what caused the crash at this point and the severity of injuries, but motorists were asked to avoid the accident scene as the roadway was temporarily blocked in both the north and south direction of Route 1.
Police are expected to release more information about the crash as it becomes available.
Route 1 is heavily traveled for motorists traveling to Kennebunk and Wells and those going north to Biddeford.
The interesction also connects Arundel with Kennebunkport via Log Cabin Road.
