The 16th annual Maine Credit Unions’ Ending Hunger Walking Tour, which began in late October at the Maine State Credit Union in Augusta, concluded in late November.

Each year Brenda Davis, a longtime advocate of ending hunger in Maine and executive director of the BBC Opportunity center in Old Town, partners with Maine’s credit unions to travel each day, by foot and car, to raise funds for the campaign. This year, she visited a record 98 credit union locations in 91 different communities.

Davis visited the Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union on Nov. 10 and was presented with donation checks.

The money received by Davis during the walking campaign goes to a food pantry in each credit union’s community.
