Editor,
Senators Susan Collins and Maria Cantwell are to be commended for reporting on the GAO study of the future costs of climate change.
We have spent over $350 million dollars already to begin repair and recovery efforts in Houston, Florida and Puerto Rico. There is probably double that left to do.
How, I wonder, can Congress be calling for less revenue in the federal budget while at the same time ignoring climate change at a time when we will undoubtedly be facing similar catastrophic weather events more often due to climate warming, as the century progresses?
Please let your Representatives know that you want them to support fair tax reform and legislation like the Citizens Climate Lobby’s bipartisan Carbon Fee & Dividend to stop climate change.
