BIDDEFORD — On Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 6:30 pm, Rise 4 ME will sponsor a showing of “Awake, a Dream from Standing Rock.”
The film captures the story of the Native-led defiance at Standing Rock that forever changed how we fight for clean water, our environment, and the future of our planet. The screening will be held at Flourish, 140 Main St. in Biddeford. Donations are suggested.
Rise 4 ME was started by a group of people from the Biddeford-Saco area after the historic 2017 Women’s March on Washington. Its mission is to promote efforts of grassroots activism in our local area.
The Rise 4 ME group consists of concerned sisters and brothers committed to nonviolent resistance, social justice, equality for all, inclusion and civic engagement through awareness and positive change.
