The Brunswick High School girls soccer team improved to 8-0 with a 5-0 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference victory over Oxford Hills on Tuesday.
The Dragons are slated to host Skowhegan on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Brunswick received two goals from Lea Scrapchansky, and one each from Maeve Arthur, Bailey Hartill and Anna Kousky. Emily Larochelle, Arthur, Lea Scrapchansky and Sara Scrapchansky each earned an assist.
In goal, Beth Labbe had four saves in the win, while Oxford Hills netminder Jillian Douglas turned away 13 shots.
“We took a while to get into our stride today, but once the first goal came we never looked back,” said Brunswick coach Martyn Davison, whose Dragons held a 28-4 shot advantage. “I thought Isabella Banks was excellent in midfield and pulled the strings for us. Anna Kousky never stopped working, and Lea Scrapchansky, Sara Scrapchansky and Emma Banks were solid again. Great game also by Bailey Hartill, Emily Larochelle, Jenna Roane, Alexis Guptil and Marley Groat.”

The host Eagles ended a three-game losing streak with a big KVAC win over the Broncos in Topsham.
Ema Hawkes, Ryley Leach and Jessica Cloutier scored for Mt. Ararat, which visits Cony on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

Emily Martin scored a pair of goals as the Shipbuilders (5-2-1) edged Lincoln Academy at Newcastle.
Morse hosts Leavitt on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
The Shipbuilders jumped out to a 3-0 lead as Sierra Wallace chipped in a goal.
The Eagles pulled within a goal after two scores from Chelsea Williams.
Morse goaltender Marissa Parks made several late saves to keep her team in the lead.

FREEPORT — Colby Wagner’s goal with 10 minutes remaining in regulation lifted Freeport to a huge 2-1 Western Maine Conference win over Waynflete at Hunter Road Fields.
The Falcons improved to 5-3 while handing the Flyers their first loss (4-1-1) of the season. Freeport hosts Yarmouth on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
Waynflete grabbed a 1-0 lead six minutes into the second half on an unassisted goal by Ilyas Abdi.
Freeport tied the game on a Jacob Dumont goal off an assist from Jesse Bennell.

The Dragons won their third straight KVAC contest with a dominating victory over the Vikings at South Paris.
Mats Rasch scored three goals in the win, while Lane Foushee and Nolan Lyne added a goal each.
Foushee, Everett Horch and Lyne picked up an assist each, and Brunswick (3-5) netminders Jared Hummer and Jack McDiarmid combined on 13 saves.
Spencer Strong scored for Oxford Hills, and goaltenders Sam Morton and Nate Plourde combined on 12 stops.
Brunswick visits Skowhegan on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Sam Storer powered in two goals to lead the Roadrunners to a Mountain Valley Conference win over Wiscasset, which fell to 1-7 and visits Winthrop on Thursday at 4 p.m.
Sam Strozier had 11 saves in the loss.
Ben Butterfield, Jonathan Jordan, Dylan Starbird and Dawson Bate picked up a goal each for Mt. Abram.

The Eagles outshot and out-cornered the Broncos, but left Hampden Academy with a KVAC deadlock.
Nick Merrill gave Mt. Ararat (3-2-2) a 1-0 halftime lead, converting a corner kick from Max Spelke with 2:09 left in the frame.
The Broncos (1-5-1) tied the game when Derek Gendreau slipped a shot past Mt. Ararat goaltender Gavin Patterson (three saves) 7:04 into the second half.
Hampden goaltender Andrew Farnham had nine saves.
Mt. Ararat hosts Cony Thursday night at 7 p.m.

The Eagles rolled to a KVAC win at Newcastle.
Morse, 1-7-1 and slated to visit Leavitt on Friday at 3:30 p.m., started well, gaining a 2-0 lead behind a goal each from Sheamus Mann and Connor Bennoch.
But Lincoln Academy rallied to tie the game by halftime as Will Shaffer (PK) and Martin Stojka scored.
Terry Matsuda gave the Eagles the lead in the second half, and Nate Simmons added two goals late to help the hosts pull away.
Bowdoin
BIDDEFORD — The Polar Bears scored a goal in each half to tally a 2-0 mid-week win over the University of New England.
Bowdoin improved to 3-2- 1, while dropping the Nor’easters to 5-4.
Lynn Farquhar scored her first career goal for the Polar Bears in the 32nd minute. Morgen Gallagher set up the play with a cross to Farquhar. The first-year flipped the ball over Emily Ashman for the game’s first goal.
With less than five minutes to play in the first half, Avery Bond sent a shot off the crossbar.
Bowdoin came out firing in the first 10 minutes of the second half, forcing Ashman to make five saves. The Polar Bears added to their total off an Emily Pawlak goal with under five minutes to play, putting away a feed from Julia Patterson.
Rachel Stout earned the shutout for Bowdoin.
The Polar Bears return to Pickard Field for a Thursday afternoon matchup against Maine Maritime Academy at 4 p.m.
Field hockey
TOPSHAM — Kelsea Dwelley’s goal was the lone score as Mt. Ararat downed Bangor, 1-0, in KVAC action.
Dwelley scored midway through the first half off an assist from Holly Temple, and goaltender Lily Schenk made five saves to preserve the shutout. Senior sweeper Katie Trebilcock took a goal away with a defensive save.
Kahia Maheax had 12 saves for Bangor (6-3).
Mt. Ararat has won three straight to improve to 6-3 and hosts Hampden Academy on Friday at 4 p.m.
