ALFRED — Helen Nadeau, 69, of Alfred died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, surrounded by her family at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.

She was born Jan. 31, 1948, in Biddeford, a daughter of Paul and Blanche (Bouffard) Chabot and was educated at St. Joseph’s School and High School.

On July 6, 1968, she married Ronald Nadeau in St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.

Helen had been employed at West Point Pepperell and Pratt & Whitney before starting Helen’s Cleaning Service, which she operated for 10 years, retiring in 2009.

Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing and going to yard sales.

Preceding her in death were a sister, Priscilla Armstrong, and a brother, Paul Chabot.

Surviving are: her husband of 49 years, Ronald Nadeau of Biddeford; a daughter, Dawn Pooler and her husband, Philip of Kennebunk; a son, Mathieu Nadeau and his wife, Lindsey of Biddeford; grandchildren, Tori Canning, Zachary Nadeau, and Abigail Nadeau; two great-grandchildren, Gabriella Nadeau and Benjamin Canning; four sisters: Patricia Rondeau, Diane Saucier, Claire Paul and Donna Motolla; four brothers, Robert, Steve, Marc, and Donald Chabot; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. Mass of Christian burial will be at 9 a.m. Monday Aug. 14 in St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.
