A RECORD 118 MEMBERS and area residents attended the 16th annual People Plus picnic at Thomas Point Beach last week. Guests were treated to standard picnic fare of grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, salads, pickled beets, Frank Connor's homemade baked beans, fresh watermelon and homemade cookies for dessert, all prepared by member volunteers. Highland Green's resident band Off Their Rockers performed, as did the high school cast of Midcoast Youth Theater's production of “Carousel.” The event has been sponsored by the Ameriprise Office of Scott Lemieux since it began in 2001.
