KENNEBUNK — Harry Gerald ‘Skip’ Ambrose, 72 years, of Kennebunk died July 17, 2017.

Skip was born Jan. 12, 1945 in Bronxville, NY, a son of Harry and Catherine (Fitzgerald) Ambrose. He graduated from Kennebunk High School, Class of 1963. Skip proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. After his service, Skip worked as a fiber optic cable installer for AT&T for 35 years.

Skip enjoyed travelling and politics. He was a Civil War buff and enjoyed his friends. Most importantly, Skip loved his family. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Skip was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Tina, in 2009 and by his sisters, Patricia and Grace.

Skip is lovingly remembered by his sons, Andrew Ambrose of Portland and Anthony Ambrose and his wife, Tara, of Saco; his grandchildren, Regan and Eirnan; his brothers in law, James Dore of Lyman and Elwood “Ike” Dore and his wife, Carol, of Seattle, Washington; and his fiancé, Naran Row-Spaulding of Kennebunk.

Friends may visit on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk, Maine. Skip’s interment in Evergreen Cemetery in Kennebunk will be private.
