Each year the Freeport Rotary Club accepts applications from local high school seniors (Freeport, Pownal, and Durham) to help further their education or technical skills in a chosen area of study. Because of Rotary’s focus on service, the awards recognize outstanding community work and academic excellence, as well as leadership and other student-engagement activities. In addition to community service, the club also considers financial need. Students will get the funds during their second college semester, and the money and can be applied to tuition, books, housing, transportation, or other college expenses.
