WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The University of Southern Maine women’s track and field team posted nine scoring performances on Saturday, including two school records, en route to a fourth-place finish at the New England Division III Outdoor Championships held Friday and Saturday at Williams College.
Freshman Adela Kalilwa and senior Molly Gibeault set school records in the triple jump and pole vault, respectively.
Senior Liz O’Neal of Brunswick turned in a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:03.89. She also ran a leg of the third-place finishing 4×100 relay, which crossed the line in 1:03.89.
Southern Maine totaled 48 points to earn its third straight top 10 finish. MIT won the team title, edging host Williams College 167- 153.50.
USM will send qualified competitors to this upcoming weekend’s NEICAAA New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships, also at Williams College.
