WESTFIELD, Mass. — The University of Southern Maine men’s track and field program made history on Saturday at the annual New England Alliance/Little East Conference/MASCAC Championships by winning the LEC Outdoor Track and Field Championship to become just the second program to sweep the LEC cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field titles in the same academic year.
The Huskies matched the performance of the 2009-2010 Southern Maine teams.
USM captured seven event titles en route to taking the championship, including freshman Nick Harriman of Lisbon winning the 5,000- meter run in 15:59.17.
Harriman also captured second in the 1,500 (4:07.94).
The USM men head to Williams for this upcoming weekend’s New England Division III Championship.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
