SACO — The Biddeford + Saco Chamber of Commerce is holding a Job Fair for hospitality, tourism and career opportunities.
The event is free to the public and all ages. It will be held 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, April 24, at the Hampton Inn, 48 Industrial Park Road, Saco.
The chamber has joined efforts with the Maine Department of Labor to provide job seekers seasonal, part-time and full-time work opportunities.
“We wanted to focus on our hospitality and tourism businesses that are hiring now for the season, but we’re not limiting our fair to just those types of opportunities,” said Executive Director Craig Pendleton.
The fair will have up to 45 businesses representing professional services, camps, restaurants, hotels, manufacturing, health care, veterinary, education and more.
With York County’s unemployment below the state’s 3.2 percent average, employers are competing for employees, Pendleton said.
This is an opportunity for students and retired workers who want seasonal employment from now through early fall, he said.
This year the chamber moved its job fair from the fall to the spring to assist the seasonal job market.
