SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Sophomore Jared Marshall, junior Ron Helderman and senior Zach Miller earned first-place results to lead the University of Southern Maine men’s track and field team to a fourth-place finish among the 20 teams competing Saturday at the Seventh Annual Yellow Jacket Invitational held at American International College.
Freshman Nick Harriman of Lisbon scored in the 5,000 meters. Harriman finished 10th in 15:48.16.
Southern Connecticut State University topped the final team standings with 145 points. Stonehill College was runner-up with 72.50 points, followed by Merrimack College with 69.50, Southern Maine with 59 and host A.I.C with 55.
Southern Maine is back in competition next Saturday (10 a.m.) traveling to Fitchburg State University for the annual Eric Loeschner Memorial Invitational.
