SPRINGVALE — Bernice H. Crossman, 94, of Springvale, died on Monday, March 20, 2017, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
Bernice was born in St. Albans, Vermont, on June 24, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Helen Beaudry and Frank Brusoe of St. Albans and the wife of James H. Crossman, who died Jan. 25, 1989.
Bernice was a secretary for the U.S. Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service, District Office in St. Albans, Vermont, for 20 years. She was a lifetime associate member of the Fraternal Order of Retired Border Patrol Officers, a member of the National Association of Federal Retired Employees, and a member of the Bethel Christian Church in North Berwick.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. with a funeral service following at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main St. in Springvale. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in North Berwick.
Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
