BRUNSWICK

Starting on Tuesday, March 28, New Ventures Maine will offer Career Planning, a free five-week class to help participants prepare for their next career.

In the class, participants will review their skills, interests and experiences, and relate them to occupations. They will identify educational opportunities, research the local job market, and develop a step-by-step plan to achieve their goals.

The class is open to people of all ages and incomes. Whether you are unemployed, underemployed, or considering a career change, this class will help achieve career success.

The class will be held on Tuesdays from noon to 2:30 p.m., meeting for five sessions from March 28 through April 25. Classes take place at Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick.

Erica Quin-Easter, trainer for the class, said, “When you feel stuck at work (or stuck without work), it’s hard to take the time to think about what you really want and need from your career. This class helps you explore your options, connect with resources, and put your best foot forward to get the job you want.”

The course will connect class participants with guest speakers from area businesses, as well as community resources to support further education and training. Graduates of Career Planning are eligible to apply for the University of Maine at Augusta GEN scholarship, to be used at any UMA location.

Pre-registration is required.
