At the Senior Center

On Monday, March 13, a special luncheon will be served at the Lakes Region Senior Center on Acorn Street in Gorham. At 11 a.m., the speaker will be Kyle Rhoads, principal of Windham Elementary School, and a teacher and student will also be present. They will provide dessert.  Lunch will follow with a menu that includes traditional corned beef, cabbage and other vegetables.

A March 30 trip is planned with Windham Parks and Recreation to the Regional Vocational Center in Lewiston for lunch. The cost per person is $16. The Senior Center’s allotted seats are filled, but Windham Rec still has a few spots left. Call  892-1905.

The Senior Center is open Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Varying activities are featured each day. This is a drop-in center, and visits are encouraged. Whether you enjoy playing games, cards, working on crafts or just socializing, you’re sure to find something of interest. And on Monday mornings from 9-11:30 a.m., the gym is available to members for walking.

Veterans coffee break

A reminder that all local veterans are invited to stop by the Windham Veterans Center on Wednesday mornings from 9-11 a.m. for coffee, socializing, card games and with spring and summer not far away, perhaps horseshoes.

April lunch and theater

Plan ahead and make reservations to join Windham Parks and Recreation for a delicious catered lunch and a performance by members of Windham Center Stage Theater. The performance will be held on Wednesday, April 26, at the Windham Town Hall gymnasium at 11 a.m. with a the lunch at noon. The fee is $28 per person. Final numbers are due by April 12, when other towns will be invited.  Call 892-1905 for information and to make your reservation.
