Sanford Parks and Recreation Department sponsored a variety of contests for youth  during the Wnterfest school vacation week in February. Activities included indoor and outdoor events. The Annual Ice Fishing Derby co-sponsored by the Maine Department of Conservation was a fishless event – the youth still had fun on the pond. First place in the snow sculpture contest went to the Do Family with a Lego creation; second place went to Team Kerrigan for their airplane sculpture and third place went to the James Family for their dog sculpture. Other activities that were well attended and enjoyed were the Obstacle Course, Wheels Day, basketball/dodgeball open gyms, bowling and the week-long Day Camp. SUBMITTED PHOTO
