SANFORD — Susan (Welch) Wilcox, 57, of Sanford, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Feb 20.
Sue was born May 2, 1959, to Charles Sr and Madeline Welch. She was raised in Wells and attended local schools. On Aug. 5, 1989, she married the love of her life, Bill Wilcox. She then found her calling, caring for the mentally and physically disabled. Many days were spent with family and friends.
She especially enjoyed strawberry picking in the summer, and apple picking in the fall with her grandchildren.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Debbie Mulldune.
She is survived by: her husband, Gordon “Bill” Wilcox; one daughter, Carrie Ann Peterson; three sons, Dennis Court, Robert Court and Jamie Court; two step-sons Aaron Wilcox and Ryan Wilcox; four brothers, Charles Welch Jr., Arthur Welch, Guy Welch (Michelle) and Scott Welch; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of Susan’s life from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Kennebunk Odd Fellows Lodge.
