GORHAM — The University of Southern Maine men’s indoor track and field team finished third among the five teams competing Saturday at the USM Open III meet held at the Costello Sports Complex field house.
In addition to competition at USM, sophomore Jared Marshall smashed the school record in the 200- meter run Saturday while competing at the John Thomas Terrier Classic held at Boston University.
At the USM Open III meet, the Huskies amassed 125 points to finish behind Bates College and Merrimack College. Bates took the top spot with 188 points, and Merrimack was runner-up with 167.
Former Lisbon standout and USM freshman Nick Harriman ran the mile in 4:22.45.
USM heads to Bowdoin College on Saturday for the State of Maine Indoor Track and Field Championships.
