LACONIA, New Hampshire — Marc R. Vaillancourt, 62, of Laconia entered into eternal rest the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017 at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia following a short illness.

He was born in Biddeford, Maine, the third child to now predeceased Roland and Rita (Dorais) Vaillancourt. He graduated from Biddeford High School in the Class of 1972. He subsequently attended Southern Maine Vocational-Technical Institute where he received an associate degree in Culinary Arts in 1974. He also completed a certified course in Computer Programming at the Computer Technical Institute in Hartford, Connecticut in 1988.

On Feb. 14, 1987 he married Elizabeth L. Mendenhall in Rockville/Vernon, Connecticut. Together they formed a bonded circle of love, hope, caring, openness, laughter, music and goodness for their families, friends and anyone who would soon become a friend.

Marc had many diverse careers and wore many different hats in his shortened life. His last and most fulfilling position was for Jefferson-Pilot Life Insurance and eventually Lincoln Financial Group for almost 20 years in Concord, New Hampshire, where he was a Senior/Analyst Programmer. Marc truly enjoyed the people he worked for and especially with. His work teams included many esteemed colleagues from all over the country who watched over him and his wife so closely while they were being taken on this cryptic, but horrific ride of illness.

A sincere and heartfelt thank you to all of those enlightened individuals who were there to hold our hands, give true meaningful hugs, pray with us while expressing your kind, thoughtful words and filling in the gaps with needed rides, true help and all necessary errands. You truly gave us hope, kindness, caring and understanding while our world was just crumbling around us; for you we will be eternally grateful.
