Not In The Spirit Of Things
I’m just wondering why they are advertising Maine Spirits on TV and newspapers? Cigarette, beer and wine have been removed from all the above. Now here comes “Spirits” everywhere you turn. What’s the story? If tobacco, beer and wine can’t be advertised why is OK for Alcohol? Alcohol is not good for anyone. It impairs the mind and stability of life. It’s time our leaders take a step to have all advertisement removed. People know where to find the tobacco, beer and wine and I’m sure they can find the liquor too. It’s just not right. For once lets think of our health instead of making fools of ourselves by drinking.

Trump Needs To Show Tax Returns
President Elect Trump said in his news conference today that only members of the media care about his tax returns, that the public does not. As a member of the public I can say that this is categorically untrue. I care about the tax returns and financial statements of all public officials because I want to see clearly that he or she is acting only in the interests of the public. I believe, also, that all federal appointees must work through the ethics processes of the Office of Government Ethics before they are approved. I ask that Senators Collins and King require full disclosure and vetting before supporting any nominees, in line with long-standard procedures.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
