On Dec. 4 family, friends, and acquaintances of Bath United Methodist Church and West Bath Girl Scout Troop #204 gathered to celebrate the presentation of religious awards to three West Bath Girl Scouts.
Pastor Gwyneth Arrison awarded the God and Me medals and certificates to Emmaline Turner, Chelsea Turner, and Lillian Curtis. Over the course of four weeks, the Girl Scouts participated in classes, Bible study, prayer, service projects, and at home study and projects to become best friends with Jesus. The God and Me religious award program is part of the God and Country series developed by the United Methodist Men’s Foundation and P.R.A.Y. to encourage youth to grow stronger in their faith. We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
