WELLS—It may be cold outside, but there’s plenty of warm activities coming up at the Wells Public Library for children and adults.
According to Allison Herman, Assistant Director and Head of Youth Services at the library, a full schedule of programs is scheduled through the holidays and into January.

Teen Movie Matinee

Need something to do on an early release day? Stop by the library to watch a movie! Have fun hanging out with friends, eating popcorn, and enjoying the show. Toddler Storytime
Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 1:30 p.m. and Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 10:30 a.m.
Ages 2- to 5-years-old and their caregivers are invited to meet us on Tuesday afternoons and Wednesday mornings for stories, songs, and movement, all followed by a craft. Random Fandom
Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 1 p.m.
It’s time to get ready for our next Random Fandom. Each month we celebrate a new popular theme geared towards kids in grades 5-8. This January, we will enjoy Alice Through the Looking Glass, Classic Disney, and Otaku (Manga/Anime Lover). Each month we make crafts, talk about our favorite aspects of our chosen theme, eat snacks, and play games. Lego and Rubik’s Cube Club
Friday, Jan. 6 at 3 p.m.
Let the brain games begin. Participants are invited to build master creations with Legos provided by the library. We will also have Rubik’s cubes on hand with instructions on how to solve the Cube. Meditation Class

If meditation is something you are curious or passionate about, this program is for you. Learn how to consistently incorporate mediation into your life in order to increase health, wellbeing and inner peace. Wellness Coach Cindy Simon will lead us in a weekly meditation session. Conversational French Language Group
Thursday, Dec. 22 at 6 p.m.
Join us for an informal approach to practicing or re-learning French. This group will meet weekly on Thursdays to speak French. We will offer some activities, questions, and other approaches to practicing the language, but mostly it will be up to the group to determine what the format will be. Lunch and Learn: Author Courtney McDermott
Friday, Jan. 6 at 12 p.m.
Join us in welcoming writer Courtney McDermott. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College and the MFA program at the University of Notre Dame, McDermott’s stories and essays have appeared in a broad variety of literary magazines. Her debut collection of short stories, How They Spend Their Sundays, was published by Whitepoint Press in 2013. Based in Lesotho and South Africa where the author was a Peace Corps Volunteer, this debut story collection speaks about a perspective of African life that is not usually discussed.
