GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump is scheduled to appear in Lisbon on Friday. According to Trump’s website, he is scheduled to appear at a rally at the Open Door Christian Academy Gymnasium at 4 p.m. Doors will open at 1 p.m.
The candidate has visited the state four times during his campaign, the latest of which was a rally held in Bangor on Oct. 15. His son, Donald Jr., visited a Gray gun shop on Tuesday and said his dad would protect the Second Amendment right to bear arms.
Lisbon is located in Maine’s hotly-contested 2nd District, which polling shows could cede one of the state’s four Electoral College votes to Trump. According to the Associated Press, 41 percent of Lisbon voters are unenrolled.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
