From the Journal Tribune: “Traditional rivals on the sports fields, students at Sanford High School and Massabesic High School are now locked in another challenge. Which of the high schools can collect the largest amount of non-perishable food, to be determined in pounds, for the York County Shelters Feeding Program? Peer Helpers groups from each school are organizing the drive, which began Monday and winds down Nov. 15.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Early this morning Saco Police received a report of several horses loose on North Street. Sgt. Charles Desper and Patrolman Roger Guinard went to the scene and drove the horses back onto the fenced property of their owner Jesse Gay on the Milliken Road.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “Portland lightship is back on her station, much to the relief of many shipmasters who have done a lot of complaining since she was brought to Portland for repairs about two months since. She started out bright and early Wednesday morning in tow of the lighthouse tender Zizania, although having her own steam up, the Hibiscus also accompanied them as a sort of convoy, the latter bringing back the gas buoy which has been doing duty on the station.”
