From the Journal Tribune: “The frost has hit, which means the holidays are on their way. In just a few weeks, cooks around the country will be stuffing their Thankgiving turkeys, and nothing goes better with turkey and stuffing than cranberry sauce. Locally, the freshest cranberries can be found in Kennebunk, where Bob Nest, one of the few cranberry growers in this part of the state, sells part of his crop at a roadside outside his home.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “During last night’s meeting of the Saco Valley Riding and Driving Club, held at the Smutty Lane, Saco clubhouse, it was voted to have a bowling session at the Glen–Mor Lanes, Portland Street, Kennebunk, at 7 p.m. Nov. 6 to be followed by a lunch. Thirteen members and officers were present at the meeting, during which time reports of the secretary and treasurer were read, as well as a report on the Trail Ride Cookout and Horse Show. According to officials that event was a profitable one.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “C. Wallace Harmon, whose title to the office of judge of the Saco municipal court was recently affirmed by the Maine law court after a long contest under quo warranto proceedings, has been nominated by Governor Curtis for a new term of four years, which will begin in late December.”
