A bean supper will be held at Saco Grange No. 53, 168 North St., from 4-6:30 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 5 to 12, and free for children under 5. The menu includes homemade kidney and pea beans, brown bread, red and brown hot dogs, American chop suey, coleslaw, hot rolls/biscuits, pies, and hot and cold beverages. A baked bean and American chop suey supper will be held at First Congregational Church of Kennebunkport from 4:30-6 p.m. in the church’s Ober Hall, 141 North St. The suppers are open to the public. Cost is $8 per adult and $4 per child under age 12. The menu includes

First Congregational Church is located 1.5 miles south of the Seacoast Trolley Museum, where Log Cabin Road becomes North Street, next to Arundel Cemetery and near Wink’s Store and the Kennebunkport Historical Society. A potluck for the walkers of this year’s Maine Peace Walk will be hosted by First Parish Congregational Church, Saco, from 6-7 p.m. All are invited to participate; please bring something to share. The event allows anyone to talk to the walkers about their efforts, and to share your own perspectives. Housing is also needed for the walkers on the night of Oct. 23. Adam Nudd-Homeyer will discuss his craftsmanship, which marries history, woodworking and metal work, at 1:30 p.m. at the Shaker Museum, 118 Shaker Hill Road, Alfred. Nudd-Homeyer is a seventh-generation craftsman at Tappan Chairs in Sandwich, New Hampshire, and an experienced educator. A meeting of the Evergreen Quilt Guild will be held 6 -9 p.m., at St. David’s Episcopal Church, Route 1, two miles south of Kennebunk Village. Evergreen Quilters usually meet the four Mondays of each month except July and December. Newcomers are always welcome.
