During his life on earth Jesus went about healing and curing the sick, the lame, the blind, the deaf, and those possessed by demons. How much of that was healing and how much was curing we will never know, but my guess is that it included a whole lot of both. Healing and curing are not the same. Curing means eliminating all evidence of disease, while healing goes beyond to include the restoration of mental, emotional and spiritual vitality and wellness. When you heal your mind, soul and spirit the body often follows .Healing goes deeper than curing and always comes from within. The cure is for the disease not the person and that is the difference between the two. Few things in life have the healing power that can be found within the touch of another human being. Much of Jesus healing ministry involved human touch. (Matt: 14:36 “and all who touched him were healed”) We all have the power to heal and it can involve something as simple as a smile, a kind word or deed, a listening ear, a loving touch or an act of forgiveness. We carry this power within us, so let’s be generous and spread it around wherever we go.
