Androscoggin Bank’s MainStreet Foundation recently announced the recipients of its impact grants for the third quarter of 2016, which includes a Bath-based organization.
Recognizing a need for at-risk kids in Maine to be safe, healthy, active, happy, educated and nourished, the foundation awards impact grants four times each year to organizations actively working to help kids thrive.
The grants are based on need and are awarded in amounts up to $5,000.
Among the grants awarded was:
• Tri-County Literacy. A total of $5,000 was awarded to this Bath-based organization that focuses on improving lives through literacy. The grant will support the “Read With Me” program.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
