Don your giving boots for Riding to the Top’s annual “Boots, Band and BBQ” fundraiser event, taking place Saturday, Oct. 15, from 5:30-11 p.m., at the riding center on Lilac Drive in Windham. The nonprofit therapeutic riding center will host up to 350 guests for a night of dinner and dancing in support of their programs and riders.

Portland-based band Under the Covers will play. Activities include a boot contest, photo booth, door prizes and auction led by Elizabeth Holmstrom. Last year, the event raised more than $100,000 for riderships, horse care and programs. This year, organizers have a goal to best last year and, accounting for sponsorships and ticket sales, are on target to meet that goal. Riding To The Top, founded in 1993, provides equestrian-assisted classes and therapy to more than 250 clients annually, 60 percent of whom receive scholarship funds.
