I would like to urge the people of York County to vote for Independent candidate Bernard “B.J.” Broder for judge of probate.
I have known attorney Broder for 16 years. After retiring from teaching, I became a court officer, and part of my job was to be a liaison between the police department, where I worked, and the District Attorney’s office. B.J. was a prosecutor in the D.A.’s office, and it was very obvious that I had very little experience in the criminal justice system.
B.J. became my mentor, and with an amazing amount of patience and generosity, he taught me how to do my job well. I watched as he treated everyone with respect and compassion.
I know that as a probate judge, he will bring that same spirit with him and serve York County with dedication and fairness. There is no one who will be a better choice for the people of York County.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
