OLD ORCHARD BEACH — The Old Orchard Beach girl’s soccer team clinched its first playoff berth in four years with a 3-1 win over Traip on Tuesday.
After a scoreless first half, OOB would take the 1-0 lead early in the second thanks to a goal from Emily Greenlee.
Traip would tie the score just two minutes later, however OOB’s Sammy Donnell would score a header from a corner kick to give the Seagulls the lead back.
Myah Hebert would later score her first career goal to secure the 3-1 win.
OOB goalie Tiffany Leclair recorded one save on the afternoon.
Thornton Academy 2, Deering 1 (OT)
Thornton Academy grinded out a tough overtime win over Deering on Tuesday.
TA’s Abbey Carignan would put the Trojans up early in the first half by scoring on a corner kick. Deering would respond 15 minutes later to tie the score.
Alyanna Beadoin would knock in the game-winner in double overtime off a corner kick from Liz Bell.
Volleyball
Portland 3, Wells 0
The Bulldogs would sweep Wells in three sets Tuesday, winning by scores of 25-19, 25-23 and 25-17.
Despite the loss, a handful of Warriors had solid outings. Kait Schott tallied 22 assists and six digs, while Alyssa Loukola added nine kills.
Field Hockey
Sanford 2, Portland 1
The Spartans pulled off a 2-1 win in the season finale against Portland on Tuesday.
Sanford was led by Marissa Nance, who scored both goals in the first half to put the Spartans on top.
Sanford ends its season with a 3-11 record.
