The 23rd annual Old Orchard Beach Car Show, which was held Sept. 16-17 and partially benefits the Old Orchard Beach “Call” Fire Department, was a tremendous success thanks to participants, spectators, area sponsors and a large team of dedicated volunteers.
Great weather also played a part in the weekend’s success, bringing in over 350 unique, fun, sporty and nostalgic cars for Friday night’s car line-up and parade, and more than 300 participants for Saturday’s car show.
The crowds were tremendous, with over 2,000 spectators each day who could be seen meandering from car to car and in and out of shops and restaurants, thoroughly enjoying this well-established event.
The Old Orchard Beach Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the following sponsors for generously contributing to the success of the car show:
Presenting Sponsor: Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution
Gold Sponsors: Beau Rivage Motel, Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep, The Edgewater Inn
Silver Sponsors: Crest Motel, Hagerty Classic Car Insurance, Maine state Rep. Justin Chenette, Sea Cliff House
Bronze Sponsors: Crosswinds Motel & Cottages, Hid’n Pines Family Campground, Maine Indoor Karting, Palace Playland, Sarah’s Place, The Pines
In addition, the Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize the 50-plus volunteers who worked tirelessly and cooperatively to make this year’s car show the best on record. This year’s volunteer staff included members from the car show committee, O.O.B. Public Works, O.O.B. Police Department, O.O.B. Fire Department, O.O.B. “Call” Fire Department and O.O.B. Town Hall employees, as well as countless O.O.B. Car Show aficionados who choose to volunteer for this September event year after year.
Mark your calendars, as next year’s 24th annual Old Orchard Beach Car Show is expected to take place Sept. 15-16, 2017.
