From the Journal Tribune: “Scientists on Thursday carried out China’s first successful test of an experimental fusion reactor, powered by the process that fuels the sun, a research institute spokeswoman said. China, the United States and other governments are pursuing fusion research in hopes that it could become a clean, potentially limitless energy source.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Two U.S. Marine bombers missed their target and dropped 500-pound bombs by error Tuesday on a friendly village occupied by Vietnamese forces and their families. A U.S. military spokesperson said the mistake bombing killed 28 soldiers and civilians and wounded 17. The bombs also wrecked about 100 huts in the village in the northern province of Quang Ngai, 350 miles north of Saigon. ”
