The Brunswick High School field hockey team’s work in the circle paid off against Lewiston on Monday, as the Dragons took a 3-1 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win.
Shea Sullivan got the scoring started for Brunswick (4- 6) in the first half, taking a pass from Rosie White and finishing past Lewiston (1-9) netminder Ashley Cronkhite at the 23:12 mark.
Senior Hannah Escoe scored twice in the second half, with one pass coming on a penalty corner from Ketty Stinson (22:55) and another from Sullivan at 5:21.
Kasey Talarico notched the Blue Devils’ lone goal with just 22 seconds remaining in the game. Cronkhite made 14 saves, while Brunswick’s Ainsley Harrower blocked five shots.
The Dragons will host Bangor on Friday at 4 p.m.
Boys soccer
ROCKLAND — Declan Hall scored the game-winning goal late in the first overtime to lift Morse to a KVAC Class B win over Oceanside.
Dakota Freeman staked the Shipbuilders (5-3) to a 1-0 lead with 27:32 remaining in the opener half. Tucker Banger picked up an assist.
Oceanside tied the contest on a Sam Townsend goal with 10:03 remaining in regulation.
Colby Dorr had 13 saves in goal for the Mariners, while Alex Fernald earned the win with 11 stops.
Morse hosts Maranacook on Friday at 6 p.m.

At Salem, the Roadrunners scored a goal in each half for a Mountain Valley Conference win over the Wolverines, who fell to 4-4 and hosts Oak Hill on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Tyson Hill and Jonathan Jordan had a goal each for Mt. Abram (4-2-1), while netminder Xavier Romanoski had 11 saves.
Wiscasset keeper Conlon Ranta turned aside nine shots.
Golf
TOPSHAM — Top-seeded Mt. Ararat rolled behind a pair of 1-over par 36s by Caleb Manuel and Cam Cox en route to a KVAC South semifinal win over No. 4 Lewiston at Highland Green.
With the 156-185 win, the Eagles advance to Wednesday’s KVAC South final against No. 2 Edward Little at Highland Green.
Steven Schuman fired a 4- over 39 for Mt. Ararat, while Cade Charron figured into the scoring with a 45. Ben Hickson (47) and Will Kavanaugh (51) also teed it up for Mt. Ararat.
Alex Robert (40) and Stephanie Rodrigue (41) were the top scorers for the Blue Devils, with Jayden Wilson (52) and Cam Doyon (42) also scoring.

The second-seeded Red Eddies held on in a close match with No. 3 Brunswick to advance to Wednesday’s final.
Ben Cassidy (41), Aaron Perkins (42), Deryk Belanger (43) and Ryan Raby (45) posted the top four scores for Edward Little at Prospect Hill Golf Course.
The top four scorers for Brunswick were Sam Sharpe (42), Jack Bates (42), Zach Grant (45) and Bronte Fontaine (45).
The Dragons will be in action Oct. 8 in Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro for the state and individual competitions.
