The Dries family will host a solar power open house in their home at 94 Whitten Hill Road, Kennebunkport, from 6-7:30 p.m. All are welcome to join the discussion about solar energy systems and their ability to lower energy bills and reduce traditional fossil fuel emissions. At 6 p.m. there will be a presentation allowing for questions and answers followed by a tour of the Dries family solar power system. The open house will be taking place during the Solarize Seacoast Maine campaign in Kittery, Eliot, York and South Berwick. Residents of these towns will be able to participate in a group purchasing discount to solarize their homes and businesses. For more information on the open house, or Solarize Seacoast Maine, contact Jennifer Hatch at 221-6342, or by email at jen@revisionenergy.com.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
