Reaching into his coat pocket, Donald Trump pulled out a Purple Heart. “I always wanted one of these, I never thought it would be so easy.” The person that gave it to him, the veterans’ high honor medal, stood by Trump’s side at a recent Trump campaign rally.
As a veteran, I was offended that the medal wasn’t respected. Meanwhile, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Army veterans are all silent.
When John Kerry wanted to be president of the United States, “swift boat” veterans made it known of Kerry’s throwing his military medals over the White House fence during the Vietnam conflict. Today’s veterans gave Trump a great round of applause when he attended the Veterans of Foreign Wars convention. They all worship the ground he walks on.
He makes fun of the Purple Heart, and our veterans are all mute. There’s no more loyalty among our veterans.
I want it known, I did my military obligations. I received an honorable discharge. I have my certificate to prove it. Trump was a draft dodger.
