From the Journal Tribune: “In spite of their best faith efforts to create abundant new parking opportunities in the downtown – taking a sort of field of dreams, ‘build it and they will come’ approach – the city is struggling to actualize such plans. Parking has become an increasingly hot topic, particularly as the administration’s enthusiasm for downtown development gathers steam. ”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “The merger of St. Louis and St. Joseph’s High Schools, Biddeford, was announced today by the newly formed St. Louis High School Board. The school will now be known as St. Louis High School. The former St. Louis high was for boys only, while St. Joseph’s located in the same building, provided education for girls. Some 530 pupils are expected for the fall term at the combined institution.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “David T. Kelly of South street, this city, employed for several years at the H. R. Dennett drug store in Saco, has received notice from the commissioners of pharmacy that he has successfully passed his examination. This means, of course, that Mr. Kelly is now a full-fledged druggist.”
