SCARBOROUGH — Robert N. Cyr, 84, of Saco, passed away Wednesday evening, Aug. 17, 2016, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on Dec. 31, 1931, a son of Leo and Gertrude (Beauchesne) Cyr. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire, and received his master’s degree in law at Boston University.

Robert served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On June 9, 1962, he married his wife, Claudette. He was employed as a partner for Waterhouse, Carroll & Cyr.

Robert had a wide range of hobbies and interests, including fishing, boating, reading, dining out, seeing live plays, paddle sports, watching movies and photography. Most of all, he enjoyed socializing and spending time with the people he loved.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudette (Larochelle) Cyr, on Jan. 11, 2013, and by his brother, Paul.

He is survived by: his three children, Jo-Ann Cyr of Saco, Steven R. Cyr and his wife Kimberly of North Carolina, and Michael C. Cyr and his wife Shannon of Saco; one sister, Lillian; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco. If friends desire, donations in Robert’s name can be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 313 Washington St., #310, Newton, MA 02458.
