BATH – Jean A. Blake, 80, of Denny Road died Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Freeport Nursing and Rehab.

She was born in Bath on June 16, 1936, a daughter of Raymond E. and Ruth M. (Pendleton) Berry Sr.

She attended Bath schools and graduated from Morse High School in the Class of 1954. She was employed for Dr. Jacob Smith and Joseph Smith in Bath. On May 29, 1957 she married Donald E. Blake and they resided in Bath. Jean was employed at Bath Memorial Hospital as Central Supply Supervisor in charge of Sterilization until retiring in 1990.

Jean was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bath where she was active in teaching Sunday school and various other projects.

She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Donald E. Blake Sr. on July 2, 2014 and step brother, Robert Berry.

She is survived by her son, Donald E. Blake Jr. and his wife Jean of Bath, one daughter, Barbara Ann McCabe of Monmouth, one brother, Raymond E. Berry of Gardiner, one sister, Helen Allisot of Bath, 3 grandchildren 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. Burial will be at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 851 Washington Street, Bath, 04530.
