From the Journal Tribune: “Biddeford’s Wood Island lighthouse and home, as they stand today, are a testament not only to the island’s history but also to the dedication of the Friends of Wood Island Lighthouse volunteers. The all-volunteer group has more than 100 members, according to Shirley Stallings, with a lesser core of people who run tours to the island and maintain the house, oil house and walkway ramp.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Signs of the approach of fall were heightened today with announcements of dates for physicals and initial workouts for the high school area grid squads. Biddeford High School football candidates will be given physicals Wednesday evening at 6 at the high school.”
