The work of Bumbleroot Organic Farm and Maine Farmland Trust to work out a deal that allows an organic farm to flourish in Maine is truly a test of our changing society. The farmers in America are the backbone of the nation that we all hold so dear to us.

Organizations like Bumbleroot allow people to feel confident that their food is produced in a healthy environment, and with the support of Maine Farmland Trust we see these organizations getting the community support to insure that healthy food is available for the public to consume. The further we get from processed food and support our local farmers, the closer we can get to protecting our communities from unhealthy practices.

As the younger generations join the workforce. especially in the agriculture field,  we are seeing a large shift to sustainable and organic farms. After this display by the Maine Farmland Trust it shows that it is very supportive of the mission to provide healthy food for the public of Maine.

As farming culture continues to spread through Maine and through the age groups with its changing foundations being supported by organizations like Maine Farmland Trust, we are insuring Maine’s food security.
