From the Journal Tribune: “A child passenger in a moving vehicle in Waterboro was hit by flying glass and sustained minor cuts Thursday afternoon when someone in another vehicle shot out the car windows with what law enforcement authorities believe was a B.B. gun. The moving vehicle incident is one of at least five reported Thursday.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “A New England Telephone Co. official said today that he believes the public is more interested in quality telephone service than in any invasion of privacy. Jay H. Whatley, an assistant vice president of operation for the company, told a Department of Public Utilities hearing that the company’s serviceobservation proceedings are essential to maintaining good service.”
