Demolition began on a building at the corner of Sullivan and Water streets on Tuesday morning. According to City Manager Jim Bennett, the building is one of five buildings slated for demolition this summer, as ordered by the City Council this past spring. Three of the buildings were owned by the city, including the former Voltigeur Snowshoe Club building, which was demolished last month. The two remaining buildings were deemed unsafe by the city, including the Sullivan Street building pictured here Tuesday. The other, a structure on Center Street, was razed last week, Bennett said.
