Brunswick police and fire departments were called to a crash at 343 Bath Road Thursday evening to find a car had crashed through the corner of a building.
Reported at 5:15 p.m., police say in a press release that the car was traveling north on Bath Road, lost control, crossed over the center line and drove over two separate commercial properties before “taking flight.”
The car crashed into the side of a warehouse, driving in and out one side of it before striking and coming to rest against another part of the building which was also damaged.
The driver and sole occupant, Lindsay Easterling, 28, of Bath, was transported to Mid Coast Hospital for what appeared at the scene to be minor injuries.
Nobody was inside the warehouse at the time of the collision. However one construction worker who was behind the building heard the crash. He went to the crash site and used a fire extinguisher to put out a small fire which had ignited inside of the building before the fire department or police arrived on scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the police department’s Collision Reconstruction Team. Police do not think alcohol was a factor.
