OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Paul A. Roberge, 71, of Old Orchard Beach, died Monday, July 18, 2016, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough following a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 2, 1945, in Biddeford, a son of Roger and Yvette (Jariz) Roberge. He attended St. Joseph’s School and Biddeford High School, graduating in the Class of 1964.

Paul served in the Army Reserve. He had been employed with Sampson’s Market, Saco Defense and Howes Highway Floor Store in Wells. After being a self-employed flooring installer, he went to work for Pratt & Whitney for 20 years, retiring in 2007.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing and making donations to the “Indian Reservations.” He also belonged to the “Senior Group” at Dunkin Donuts in the Biddeford Walmart.

On July 27, 1996, he married Charlene Lessard in Biddeford.

He was preceded in death by three sisters: Charlene Roberge, Marguerite T. Gee Lowe and Priscille Laroche.

He is survived by: his wife, Charlene Roberge of Old Orchard Beach; three daughters, Theresa Stevens of Old Orchard Beach, Melissa Penna of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and Michelle Gattuso of West Palm Beach, Florida; one son, Michael Roberge and his wife Tina of Dayton; two brothers, Roger Roberge and his wife Colombe of Arundel, and Arthur Roberge and his wife Elaine of Newfield; three sisters, Gloria “Blondie” Hartsell of Cornish, Bernadette Plante and her husband Arthur of Sanford, and Lorraine St. Ours of Wiscassett; 13 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 22, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
