Great letter by Nancy Auclair (“Former county treasurer defends Judge Nadeau,” June 23). The governor of the state of Maine gets paid $70,000. Maine judges average $121,000. Average governor’s pay is $125,000. Governor’s salary currently ranked 50th, last.
It’s good to see and hear about state, local, city and town employees’ salaries compared to the governor’s. Most city administrators, department heads and numerous other positions make up to two times the governor’s salary. Why?
I saw recently that Gov. LePage’s wife recently got a job. Awesome; great for her. Maybe the governor can get a job working on a city or town level and make twice as much as he does now.
