NEW BRITAIN, C.T — The New England Championship for track and field took place last weekend in Connecticut, and a handful of local athletes made their mark.
Biddeford’s Matt Brady led the boys’ side, placing third in the shot put with a throw of 16.87 meters.
Thornton Academy’s Samantha Curran also had a strong outing, placing sixth in the shot put as well as 12th in the discus throw.
Sanford’s Peter Hegarty followed up his second pace finish at states with a 10th place finish in the pole vault.
