BRUNSWICK — Home Instead Senior Care, which serves Cumberland County including Brunswick, was recently named Maine’s top franchise by CNBC — a list naming one franchise from each U.S. state.
Previously a professional cellist and associate conductor for the Omaha Symphony Orchestra, franchise owner William Jenks bought into Home Instead Senior Care after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and caring for his stepmother, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
CNBC recognized Jenks for making the franchise profitable in less than a year with revenue expected to surpass $2 million for the first time this year, growing 13.5 percent from 2015.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
